RESTORATION

We restore antique and period piece gilded frames & furniture. Over time old pieces can flake, chip, break or get woodworm. We treat your precious pieces to become as good as new. Luckily the making and treating gilded frames has been the same method for the last 4000 years. We use a melody of traditional techniques to stabilise fractured wood and gesso pieces to last the test of time. Pieces often exhibit stories their history that reveal themselves during the restoration. Conservation grade cleaning, consolidation, painting and gilding breathes new life into frames and furniture making them either bright and new or restored to enhance their natural brilliance. Contemporary finishes or an aged patina will help your pieces to last a hundred years more.
